The UN will install Ampere Energy storage systems for self-consumption in its telecommunications structures

The United Nations (UN) will have energy storage systems in its telecommunications areas, equipped by Ampere Energy, a Spanish multinational provider of solutions, products and services for the management of the energy transition. The organization will install several Ampere systems, adapted and prepared to withstand aggressive climates and environments.

 

The above-mentioned systems will be in sites held by the Organization in Europe and North Africa. As for the case of Europe, they will complement portable and autonomous telecommunications facilities, with the help of which a new standard for this type of infrastructure will be evaluated. And as for the case of North Africa, they will be integrated in the autonomous power system of a signal booster and microwave link, which is included in the UN telecommunications structure in the area.

 

The acquisition of this equipment is part of an initial project in which the UN will incorporate Ampere Energy solutions more broadly, to enhance self-sufficiency and self-consumption in its telecommunications facilities, based on photovoltaic generation and energy storage. By doing so, the use of generators powered by fossil fuels will decrease, and this will lead both to lower CO2 emissions, and, given the locations where the areas are held, to less complex, expensive and dangerous diesel movements.

 

The systems designed by Ampere Energy optimize the self-consumption installation, maximizing savings on the electricity bill and, in turn, promoting the use of clean energy. Furthermore, they help to monitor the energy generated by the photovoltaic modules, the stored energy and the energy that the user is expected to consume.

 

We can find, among its latest innovations, the batteries in the PRO range, the third generation of Square S and Tower S models. The PRO range includes a second MPPT and a greater voltage range that facilitates installation by increasing configuration flexibility to connect different strings of solar panels. This allows the batteries to be installed in houses with gabled roofs and with smaller spaces for the placement of the panels. It also enables the energy to be delivered from the battery, compensating for higher consumption and allowing greater savings.
